This article is the perfect example of what I am trying to reach out to young people about Social Networks. This article explains that there is plagued called FOMO ( Fear of missing out). Friends see friends doing something better, with new friends which causes jealousy and a little tension. It makes us hesitant to make plans wit that person or even talk to them. Better yet, even make eye contact with that person. Its annoying to look at a tweet, or facebook post seeing someone doing something better than you. Psychologists say that instead of being fearful of missing out on the hottest party we should be fearing missing out on true, long-term, real-life friendships.
This article is a really good response to "Social Networking & Friendships" because it's exactly what I am trying to research. It explains why social networks is destroying friendships clearly.
